It’s important to not that tiny houses originated to sit outside the bounds of residential building codes. Issues like a second exit and minimum sizes of rooms are avoided by a home built on a trailer which usually are literally smaller than the minimum size of a single family home (at least when they started popping up). In reality most tiny homes are more similar to RVs than mobile homes which are fabricated in pieces, trucked to a site, and assembled.
